Turned earth and pungent forest give way to thick, concentrated tannin and oak in this hearty, full-bodied red that displays deft varietal character. Cranberry, strawberry and cherry flavors wrap around dried herb and a hint of rose, finding seamless harmony on the finish.
A wine made in tribute of daughter Julia Jackson's relationship with her late vintner father, Jess, this wine delivers rich, rewarding smoked cherry and supple texture for a fair price. The luxurious red fruit is cradled in toasted oak and a lasting seasoning of cola and baking spice, providing plenty of complex flavor.
Tasting of strawberry puree, this fanciful, fruit-forward wine is smooth and silky in tannin, with a creamy palate that appeals. Medium bodied, it offers richness within context and balance, finishing in fresh acidity.

This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Anderson Valley opens with a mild red raspberry and faint Dr. Pepper bouquet with hints of cedar shavings. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and very smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty red plum with notes of red currant and pomegranate. We also detected some hints of dried herbs. The finish is dry and its flavors and gentle tannins fade away nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this Pinot with a garlic and rosemary pork chop or veal milanese.
Spicy, herbal and lively in robust layers of dark cherry and orange, this full-figured, textured wine is powerful and complex. The integration of oak is impressive, with lasting tannin structure on offer through a focused finish.

Byron has a long-standing tradition of producing top-tier Pinot Noirs. Some of their single-vineyard offerings are highly sought after for their longevity and power. The Nielson Pinot Noir, although played in a slightly different tune from the Byron label, is still a single-vineyard Pinot but with a different audience in mind. It doesn't have the layers of flavors that the Byron wines are known for, but in its price-point, it has a lot more going on than most. The top layer is baked berry fruits, the mid-section of the wine is cooking spices and the finish is soft with mild acidity. This Pinot Noir would pair well with BBQ ribs or most red meats with a slightly sweet sauce.
There’s sour plum and lanolin-like funkiness to the nose of this bottling, which also shows dried red-flower aromas. The palate is loaded with dried flower and fruit flavors, offering sumac, violet, game and dried cranberry flavors.
Stony citrus, maple and baking spice complement toasted oak in this focused, approachable and well-structured white wine. Vineyards from Saralee’s to Durell figure into the mix, adding texture and richness within a likable style
Concentrated pear flavor and generous oak combine for an approachable, easygoing experience of varietal character in this likable, well-distributed wine. Melon, peach and Meyer lemon add to the fruitiness and balanced weight, the grapes from several vineyard-designated sites.
Dried cherry, leather and baked earth aromas arise on the nose of this widely available, fairly priced bottling. There are earthy tones to the palate as well, where dried meat flavors meet with soft cherry and strawberry tones.
A Merlot-based blend that also contains Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is herbal, thick and concentrated, with generous layers of oak and tannin. Reductive, it shows a wealth of dark cherry and plum, with enduring richness and moderatelength.

Pass the Pinot A signature pinot noir on the market, La Crema’s offering is celebrated nationwide for its flavors of berry fruit and plums, with subtle hints of exotic spice and toast and a balanced finish.
This drips with cassis, plum, açaí berry and blueberry fruit. The display is nearly exotic, quickly harnessed by deeply embedded brambly grip and a mouthwatering iron note that extends through the long finish. A youthfully coiled wine that should cruise in the cellar. Best from 2025 through 2040.
Features a deep well of cassis, steeped blackberry and warmed plum reduction flavors at the core, slowly unwinding to reveal streaks of graphite, alder and smoldering tobacco on the finish. Muscular but defined, with a deep tug of earth, this should cruise in the cellar. Best from 2024 through 2042.
