Sourced from this site that is set on sand, this is a slightly cooler site for the Santa Rita Hills, southwest of Melville. The wine is made of clonal selection 459 and Mt. Eden. Given 20% whole cluster fermentation this offers a smooth mouthfeel with Earl Grey tea alongside a core of pure cranberry, red cherry and red raspberry fruit flavors, with salty soils. This site was once known as the Keefer Ranch Vineyard, the Dutton-Perry Ranch is farmed by the Dutton family and is set on Goldridge sandy loam soils. The palate is refined and soft with beautiful poise, weight and balance. The wine is mainly clone 777 as this was stored in 30% new French oak this offers salty orange rind and red raspberry and smoky notes on the nose. Gorgeous lemon cream and honeyed florals, this site Sky Crest Vineyard, from 1500-2000ft; the Chardonnay was planted in 2011 here on this windy site. The aromatics are right and bright, with lemon pasty cream and mint leaves soaring from the glass. The palate shows savoury intensity with white pepper and a glaring saline note of crushed oyster shells framing lean, linear citrus fruits.
Planted back in 2016 the Perilune Vineyard planted on a steep hillside and set on rocky soils. This is a very foggy site that is cool and is farmed at roughly one ton an area. This offers bergamot and damp earth on the nose alongside white truffle notes.
