The 2020 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills opens with overt
matchstick aromas over a core of wild berries,
iodine and Christmas spices. The medium-bodied
palate is soft and fresh with generous, flinty fruit
and an earthy finish. Give it plenty of time in a
decanter. 2,400 cases produced.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Bloomfield Vineyard was matured for 10 months in 40% new French oak. It has reluctant scents of woodsmoke, wild berries, autumn leaves and graphite. The medium-bodied
palate is austere and chalky with bright acidity, crunchy fruit and a juicy finish. It's slightly more rustic than the rest of the 2021s from Siduri. 283 cases were made.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Russian River, matured for 10 months in 30% new French oak, is scented of red and black cherries, woodsmoke, pipe tobacco, earth
and potpourri. The medium-bodied palate has a concentrated core of earthy fruit, slightly rustic tannins, fresh acidity and a woodsmoke-laced finish. 5,500 cases produced.

A 100% wine of origin and blended from multi vineyards, this is a Chard that has been lightly touched by the winemaker, e.g. the fruits shine, the intervention is minimal or at least, the winemaker showed a discreet sleight (slight) of hand. Pretty toasted brioche flavors along with a saline tinge hint at Chablis, but the tropical fruits place this in the New World. A pretty Chard that will convince Chard deserters to come back.

Medium ruby red in colour with bright purple undertones. Aromas of red florals, warm cherry liqueur, sweet toasted tobacco and eucalyptus. Blackberry, medley of cherry, redcurrant, liquorice and asphalt. On entry: a jet propelled rush to the senses. A liquid pleasure bomb.The textural depth and volume would fill a galaxy! The cherry nuance is enough to captivate the imbiber, let alone all the other notes. Fine tannins balance out ultra fresh tangy acids. Energy just leaps out of the glass. Light saline savouriness. Persistent long close. Wow! Wow! Wow!

Pale purple in colour with bright pink undertones. Red rose petal, violet, fresh crushed Mediterranean herbs, red berry and vanilla, all act as on introduction. Red cherry, boysenberry, orange peel, cedar shavings and salty liquorice. Warm broad inviting entry, noticeable interaction between all the elements that define this wine: starting with the ripe fruit, fresh crisp acidity, ultra fine tannins and complex minerality. So translucent. Long juicy finish.

Medium ruby red in colour. Pale pink rose, bluebell and gardenia are all found on the floral bouquet. Red cherry, pomegranate, goji berries, raspberry, orange peel and damp forest floor. Elegant entry. Good structure and weight. Juicy. Savoury. Secondary nuances of lead pencil and a puff of chocolate powder. Persistent. Long articulated finish.

Medium ruby-red with a bright purple tone. Raspberry, Turkish Delight and Chinese fivespice aromatics. Palate is seamless and silken: red fruits, exotic spices, dry earth and rose petals all flow across the palate, all entwined with a fine net of acidity and tannin that lifts and drives it. The never-ending finish is a chorus of fruit and spice with the finest grained but persistent tannins ensuring you keep returning to admire it.

Bright, crystalline ruby red in the glass. Lift of raspberry and rose petal, hint of dry soil on the nose. Palate Is medium weighted with slippery red berry fruits and a subtle dried herbal undertone. Well-framed tannins ensure it carries and drives with focus and tension and the finish is remarkable in its length and detail. A stunning grenache that sets a very high bar for the region.

Vibrant ruby and bright purple tones shine in the glass. Raspberry, dried clay and anise spice aromatics. Palate sings with red fruits, Turkish Delight and a mélange of North African spices. Tannins are fine and sandy but have great persistence and power so the whole palate is carried to a prodigiously long finish. There’s so much to discover here that you’ll want to sit in quiet introspection when drinking it.

Ink black core into a deep purple toned rim. Blackberry, broken dark slate and pastrami aromatics. Full bodied and powerful with dark fruit intensity driving it. With that fruit there’s ample savoury complexity as well, dark minerals and peppered beef undertone. A subtle acid lift ensures that power doesn’t sit heavily and the ripe tannins drive the finish very long and leave a supple dryness lingering. With food this will step up even further.

Medium intense ruby-red colour with a fragrant nose of crushed raspberry and mountain herbs. Lovely plump red and black fruits sit on entry and glide through the palate. It's light to medium in weight and still youthful with just a hint of herbal undertones. Tannins are well worked to ensure that fruit stays focused and finishes long.

Intense and deep ruby with a rich purple rim. Mulberry, black pepper and nori aromatics. Weighty and powerful with intense blue fruits wrapped by fine gravel tannins that accentuate dark minerality and black spice notes. Very long and focused right to the end, a hint of acidity lifts and fans out the finish. Serious gear this.

Deep, almost impenetrable ruby red colour. Mulberry, mocha and black olive tapenade aromatics. Rich and dense black and purple fruits fill the senses. It carries serious fruit intensity but as it builds we see layers of ferrous minerals and rosemary undertones. Good length with finely built tannins ensuring a dry finish. Still youthful, and cellaring will be well rewarded.

From magnum. Under cork. I “won” this bottle at the 2010 International Pinot Noir Celebration at a dinner with Lynn and Ron Penner-Ash and I waited until tonight to open it. And it was fabulous. Fresh and lively fruit on both the nose and the palate with wild cherry and just a hint of rhubarb. Fantastic. Great balance as a lively acidity holds all that fruit in check, leading to a lengthy finish that lasts for quite some time. This wine was made when Lynn was still firmly at the helm and I like to think I can taste her passion both for the variety and the Willamette Valley. Excellent. 92 Points.

Silky and elegant, with pear, lime and lemon zest flavors and Honeycrisp apple notes, revealing accents of fresh ginger on the finish. Drink now. 63,271 cases made.—M.W.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Clairière is dark and brooding, with a rich blend of steeped plums, sage and blood orange. This is sleek and wiry in nature, with balancing depths of ripe red and blue fruits complemented by balsam herbs and hints of exotic spice. Gently grippy tannins frame the experience as the 2019 tapers off impressively long. A sweet herbal tinge that calls the taster back to the glass.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Triple Black Slopes opens with a darkly floral blend of wild herbs, cloves and dried black cherries. This begins with a pleasant inner sweetness contrasted by brisker acidity and tart wild berries, adding a lovely tension toward the close. A gentle coating of fine tannins amasses through the finish as the 2019 tapers off long and potent yet still remarkably fresh.

Dusty and floral, the 2021 Pinot Noir Zena Crown Vineyard opens with an airy blend of wild strawberries, cola, menthol and grilled herbs. It’s soft and round with pretty red berry fruits, hints of cocoa and cool-toned acidity. A coating of find tannins resonates as the 2021 finishes long and structed with slowly fading hints of licorice. Patience will be required.

The 2021 Chardonnay Warrior Princess is expressive with a perfumed blend of gingery spices and dusty florals accentuating peach preserves. This is juicy and fresh in style, with vividly ripe orchard fruits and honeyed inner florals. The 2021 leaves the palate crisply refreshed with a subtle mineral tinge and hints of Asian pear.

This big, full-flavored wine blended from mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah is scented with blackberries and black pepper, drenched in dried cherry, 100% cacao and espresso flavors that reflect good ripe grapes and the complexifying effect of new oak barrels for aging. Firm tannins and a full body make it quite mouth filling. Best from 2025–2035. —J.G.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Emery slowly evolves in the glass with sweet herbs and wild strawberries complicated by cedary spice. Racy and sleek, a stream of brisk acidity propels its tart wild berry fruits. Pleasantly chewy, potent and lightly tannic, this finishes with a thrust of crushed black cherries and mentholated herbs.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Gran Moraine Vineyard is dark and brooding, with hints of exotic spice and dried black cherries wafting up from the glass. It flows across the palate with pure silk textures and polished red and blue fruits that swirl over a stream of juicy acidity. This leaves a licorice tinge and hints of lavender to linger through the long and gently tannic finish.

The woodland-inspired 2021 Pinot Noir Warrior Princess Block opens with an intense burst of peppery rose and dried strawberries. This is a pure and lifted effort with juicy red berries and sweet inner florals swirling above a core of brisk acidity. It tapers off gently tannic and long, leaving a licorice tinge and hints of clove.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Estate Cuvee is dusty and floral with pretty wild berries and sweet spices. This soft, juicy effort shows crisp red berry fruits and rosy inner florals forming toward the close. It finishes fresh and with medium length, leaving hints of licorice.
