Hartford Court
2018 Far Coast Vineyard Chardonnay
89 Points Editor, Decanter

A full and rich old-school Chardonnay with a caramel popcorn oak presence and soft, creamy honeyed, rich flavours. Weighty but it remains balanced and long.

WillaKenzie
2018 Chardonnay Willamette Valley
89 Points Ken Hoggins, Ken's Wine Guide Very Good

This pale straw-colored Chardonnay from Oregon opens with a green apple and smoky oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and slightly acidic. The flavor profile is an oak and flinty mineral influenced Bosc pear with notes of white pepper, vanilla, and butter cream. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger for a while. I would pair this Chard with chicken and wild mushroom ravioli with a light butter cream sauce.

Cambria
2019 Katherine's Vineyard Chardonnay
89 Points Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com

Clean white peach, citrus, and toasted bread notes emerge from the 2019 Chardonnay Katherine's Vineyard, a rich, medium-bodied Chardonnay with impressive depth of fruit, solid overall balance, and a clean finish. The quality they're able to achieve in this cuvée given the quantity produced is incredible. This is well worth seeking out and would be a terrific house white to enjoy over the coming year or three.

La Crema
2018 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast
89 Points Loren Sonkin, Into Wine

This is a nice, inexpensive Chardonnay. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has lemons, some apples and spice. On the palate, this is crisp with apples. Nice finish. Serve chilled. This should be consumed in the next year or two. It is very food friendly and would work well with sea food or lighter foods.

Yangarra Estate Vineyard
2020 Blanc McLaren Vale
89 Points Ned Goodwin, Halliday Wine Companion

Handpicked and whole-bunch pressed, with plenty of love imparted; a combination of ceramic egg and older French wood for both fermentation and a brief 4-month stint on lees. The result is typically southern, evocative of the sort of wine with which one washes down everything and anything, from the Mediterranean belt of Montpellier to Avignon. Granny Smith apple, freshly lain tatami, cantaloupe and a honeysuckle waxiness melds with the gentle pucker and malic acid tang. Could be a bit riper.

Kendall-Jackson
2019 Vintner's Reserve Pinot Noir
89 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2019 Pinot Noir Vintner's Reserve is a very pretty wine, especially in its peer group. Floral and airy in feel, the 2019 is so classy. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, blood orange and cinnamon are all lifted in this exquisite, nuanced wine. Value-priced Pinot is so hard to find. This release is a terrific choice for readers on a budget.

Kendall-Jackson
2019 Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay
89 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2019 Chardonnay Vintner's Reserve is very pretty and floral. Citrus, almond and dried flowers open nicely, followed by tropical notes that grace the finish. In 2019, the Vintner's Reserve is a bit lighter than it typically is. Even so, it remains one of the greatest - if not the greatest - value in estate wine made in sufficient scale. It can be found pretty much anywhere.

Kendall-Jackson
2019 Jackson Estate Nielson Vineyard Pinot Blanc
89 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2019 Pinot Blanc Nielson Vineyard is a new wine in this range. I am struck by its textural richness, depth and personality. Citrus and floral-laced overtones linger effortlessly.

Kendall-Jackson
2019 Jackson Estate Sable Mountain Chardonnay
89 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2019 Chardonnay Sable Mountain Vineyard, from a site in Anderson Valley, is laced with very pretty, exotic floral notes. It is one of the more aromatic wines in the range. I find it just a bit light, but all the elements are nicely balanced just the same.

Hartford Court
2018 Pinot Noir Marin County
89 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2018 Pinot Noir (Marin County) is a gracious, perfumed wine with lovely aromatic presence and fine balance. Crushed red berry fruit, flowers and spice give this light-bodied Pinot tons of immediacy and sheer appeal. Drink it over the next few years. The Marin County Pinot is always one of my personal favorites in this range, as it is again in 2019.

Cambria
2018 Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir
89 Points Anthony Gismondi, Anthony Gismondi on Wine

Julia's Vineyard will soon be 50 years old. It was named after Julia Jackson, daughter of Jesse Jackson and Barbara Banke, in 1988, two years after the Jackson family purchased the Cambria Estate Winery. You can feel the inherent warmth of Santa Maria Valley here, in terms of its darker fruit profile, brown spices, and rich, glycerous-like textures. It’s not over the top but rather nicely balanced by savoury notes of underbrush, flint and perfectly integrated oak. It’s always charming shortly after bottling, given its silky smooth tannins. I suggest a light chill to set the fruit off here.

Copain
2019 Tous Ensemble Rosé of Pinot Noir
89 Points Anthony Gismondi, Anthony Gismondi on Wine

Jackson Family Wines bought Copain, and like most of its acquisitions, it was given what it needed and left alone to pursue its ethos in peace. Copain has been lauded for its Rhone wines, so it only seems natural they would make a rosé of substance. This pink treads an edge consumers will like: dry, earthy, saline, and fresh. Look for that snappy pink grapefruit and strawberries with just a hint of licorice. Fine quality for this very un-Californian rosé. It is all Mendocino pinot noir, and Pommard, clone 667, and 777, fermented in stainless steel. The site is northwest-facing, so it gets minimal sunlight, allowing multiple passes in the vineyard and harvest at numerous ripeness levels.

Matanzas Creek
2019 Sauvignon Blanc Sonoma County
89 Points Ken's Wine Guide Tasting Panel, Ken's Wine Guide Very Good

This almost clear colored Sauvignon Blanc opens with a cat pee and honeysuckle bouquet with hints of grapefruit and lemon. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied, balanced and round. The flavor profile is faint crush stone and gentle yellow grapefruit with hints of lemon pith and green apple. The finish is dry and fades away nicely. The Panel would pair this Sauvignon Blanc with deep-fried scallops or ceviche.

La Crema
2018 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
89 Points Kim Marcus, Wine Spectator

This fresh red features dried rose petal notes to its cherry and currant flavors, which are filled with crisp acidity. The taut and minerally finish is structured and direct. Drink now through 2023.

Matanzas Creek
2019 Sauvignon Blanc Alexander Valley
89 Points Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com

Terrific ripe pineapple and peach fruits as well as subtle grassy herbs emerge from the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Alexander Valley, a medium-bodied, nicely balanced, classic Sauvignon Blanc that's impeccably made. Don't age it, drink it.

Kendall-Jackson
2018 Estates Collection Hawkeye Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
89 Points Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Hawkeye Mountain, which comes from the Alexander Valley, sports a deep ruby hue as well as classic Cabernet notes of sweet tobacco, currants, spring flowers, and damp earth. It's medium-bodied and has ripe, supple tannins and a good finish.

Copain
2019 Abel Pinot Noir
89 Points Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com

The 2019 Pinot Noir Abel gives up ample savory cherry and assorted red fruits as well as sappy flower notes. Rather mid-weight, yet balanced and charming, it has good balance, moderate tannins, and a good finish. It should keep for 4-5 years at a minimum.

La Crema
2019 Pinot Gris Monterey
89 Points Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast Magazine

Wet gravel, crushed stone, lime candy and petrol aromas make for complex nose on this refreshing wine. The wine clings to the palate at first, then opens to green-apple and Key lime flavors, with a brush of bay leaf.

Kendall-Jackson
2019 Grand Reserve Chardonnay
89 Points Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast Magazine

Sharp aromas of lemon wedge and wet stone are warmed up by hints of nectarine and pear on the nose of this bottling. It lands boldly on the palate, offering melon, bright citrus and sea-salt flavors, as wood and stone elements linger on the finish.

Maggy Hawk
2018 Skycrest Vineyard Chardonnay
