Shows the flashy ripeness of the vintage, with a mix of plum, boysenberry and blackberry compote flavors pumping through, inlaid with roasted mesquite and sweet tobacco accents. Firm and concentrated, this wine is aromatic in cedar and cinnamon,
laced with delicious blueberries, blackberries and a hint of cocoa, and lifted by medium tannins that give a lightly gripping texture. It represents the top tier of the Kendall-Jackson organization’s Cabernets. —J.G.

A rather closed aroma gives way to subtle but rich almonds, butter and vanilla bean in the flavors. This exceptional wine is full-bodied, broad and creamy in texture. Its pastry-like flavors glide into a lingering finish.

Tempting spicy, earthy, toasted oak aromas lead to densely layered pears, almonds,wood char and crème brûlée flavors that fill the palate and echo for minutes on the finish. The wine is full-bodied, almost thick in texture and powerful in flavor.

There’s a steely minerality on the leading edge of the nose of this bottling,
which also includes Mandarin orange zest and a touch of dairy. A grippy tension wraps around the lemon pith and apple flesh core of the palate, which picks up a toasty note by the finish.

Subtle and yet expressive in measured ways, this bottling offers lychee, lemongrass, Mandarin orange pith and wet rock aromas on the nose. The palate lands softly at first and then comes the rising acidity and chalky texture, framing lemon-spiked meringue and toasted pine nut
flavors.

Raised for a year in 30-40% new German oak, the pure ruby-colored 2021 Pinot Noir iselegant with wild raspberry, fresh roses, and well-managed sweet cinnamon spice. Thismedium-bodied red has super-fi ne tannins and a clean, polished lift, with notes ofpomegranate and fresh forest herbs, as well as a soft stony texture. I enjoy the balanceand elegance this wine expresses. Well-balanced and fl oral, drink it over the next 10-12years. It’s set to be released in Fall 2023.

Medium gold with silver highlights, the 2021 Chardonnay Marin County is smoky and savory, with aromas of forest herbs, lemon candy, and ripe green apple. Medium-bodied,with vibrant acidity, more linear drive, and pleasant, mouthwatering freshness, its smoky perfume lasts on the finish, along with fresh herbs and a bit of salinity. Drink 2024-2030.

Ripe and toasty, the 2020 Chardonnay Gold Run is also a youthful medium gold and off ersnotes of wet stone, ripe peach, and lime. Medium to full-bodied and forward, its sweetcitrus fruit is followed by tropical melon and mango as well as a fl oral note. Attractive,with pithy citrus, it retains the soft fl oral and sweet fruited profi le on the fi nish that’s thecalling card of Stonestreet. Drink it over the next several years.

Medium gold, the 2020 Chardonnay Red Point Vineyard is fresh with red apple, freshfl owers, and delicate oak spice. Full-bodied, on the palate it off ers ripe pear, peach, and alight salinity, with good acidity on the fi nish. Drink 2023-2030.

The first vintage of this wine, the 2021 Chardonnay Warrior Princess Block pours a youthful golden hue and offers woodsy aromas of fresh pine, smoky earth, lime zest, and ripe apple. Medium to full-bodied, with fresh, ripe fruit of honeyed lemon and fresh pineapple and a soft, stony texture, it’s an attractive wine to drink over the next 6-8 years.

Also a deep youthful ruby, the 2021 Pinot Noir Zena Crown Vineyard is ripe with gravelly earth, black cherry, and rosemary. Medium to full-bodied, with ample structure, ripe tannins, and notes of crunchy red plum, savory herbs, and tea leaves, it will benefit from a few more months in bottle and drink well over the next 6-8 years.

Also a ripe rub/-purple color, the 2021 Pinot Noir Skycrest Vineyard is highly expressive
and forward in the glass, with aromas of boysenberry, extract cedar, and leather. Fullbodied and broad, it has expansive tannins, along with notes of ripe plum fruit, turned forest floor, and tea leaf. It’s meaty and chewy, with a lot of structure. Drink 2025-2032.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Seascape Vineyard offers more savory richness to balance the juicy fruit that exudes from the glass, with ripe black raspberry, violets, and brine. Medium to full-bodied, with linear drive and tension, its spicy profile comes through on the palate with cinnamon, cedar, cherry, and orange zest, and it’s persistent, with a long finish. Drink 2025-2035.

A deeper ruby/purple, the 2021 Pinot Noir Barbieri Vineyard is ripe with blackberry, dark earth, and lavender. This full-bodied Pinot Noir offers meaty black cherry, pepper, and turned soil notes, as well as ripe sweet tannins with a resinous feel, but it still stays fresh on the finish. It’s a ripe but quite attractive wine to drink 2024-2034.

The 2021 Chardonnay Kelli Ann Vineyard was fermented entirely in used barrels and takes on softer floral aromas of ripe peach, fresh melon, and white flowers, and although it feels sunnier, it remains elegant. Full-bodied, but with a driving fresh acidity, notes of ripe lemon oil, a hint of toasted baking spices, and ripe pear are followed by a clean finish. An attractive style with good freshness, drink it 2024-2030.

Barrel-fermented with 30% new oak, the 2021 Chardonnay Journey takes on more
aromatic intensity and richness and is fresh with apricot, orange blossoms, and a touch of flinty stones. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, with a fantastic long finish and a round texture throughout. Displaying lingering viscosity, it offers notes of yellow flowers, melon rind, and fresh fruit, as well as savory herbs, well-managed oak spice, and fresh acidity. Drink 2024-2032.

From the cooler appellation of Bennett Valley, 2021 Chardonnay Bennett Valley pours a youthful golden hue. It’s fresh and a bit reserved aromatically, with wet stone, ripe pear, and hay. Medium-bodied, with roundness up front in its notes of ripe white peach, delicate baking spices, and Meyer lemon, it’s linear, has fresh acidity, and reveals a bit of pithy texture on the finish. It is attractive to drink now or over the next 5-7 years.

Revealing a youthful medium red color, the 2020 Pinot Noir Jolie Estate Vineyard offers
notes of forest floor, red plum, and cinnamon. Medium-bodied, with sweet raspberry fruit upfront, it has a silky texture, fresh, dusty earth and a rosy perfume on the palate, well-managed spice, and a clean finish. It’s elegant and attractive to drink 2023-2030.

A light hazy yellow hue, the 2020 Chardonnay Skycrest Vineyard is a bit reserved at the moment, with yellow apple, chamomile, and lemon pith notes. The palate is more expressive, offering medium to full body and a supple texture, with a soft floral expression coming through in its notes of vanilla spice, lemon pastry, and almond. A gorgeous wine, it will take some time to open in the glass. Drink 2024-2032.

Taking on a slightly darker profile, the 2020 Pinot Noir Unforgettable Estate Vineyard
moves into ripe black raspberry, fresh violets, and gravelly earth. This medium-bodied red also takes on more structure on the palate, with some ripe tannic grip, fresh acidity, and a savory expression, with tea leaf, turned soil, and red cherry. Drink 2024-2034.

The aromatics of the 2021 Chardonnay Jackson Estate Cloud Landing are generous with golden ripe peach fruit, mango, and ripe citrus blossoms. Full-bodied, with more notable texture from its oak spice, it also reveals notes of sweet baking spices, lemon pastry, andripe melon. Fleshy and golden, it offers a lot of immediate appeal. Drink 2023-2030.

A deep though transparent ruby hue, the 2021 Pinot Noir Jackson Estate Cloud Landing is flush with pretty aromas of raspberry liqueur, wet stone, and a lovely floral bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, it takes on noticeable elegance and refinement in its notes of ripe berries, wild herbs, and a delicate mineral touch. One of my favorite reds in this tasting for its elegance, it’s drinking well now and will drink well over the next 8-10 years.
