Freemark Abbey
2017 Chardonnay Napa Valley
91 Points Anthony Gismondi, Anthony Gismondi on Wine

A selection of Napa Valley vineyard sites including Huichica Hills (37.9%), Rancho Sarco (29.6%), Ahmann Vineyard-Carneros (24.3%), Keyes Vineyard-Howell Mountain (6.7%) and Spring Mtn AVA (1.5%) presents a much welcomed lighter impression of chardonnay, that beguiles with a fragrant, honey aroma flecked with citrus washed pear and green apple. The oak is subtle, and with zero malolactic, the wine is fresh with an excellent mid-palate. The fruit was harvested before the October fires, leaving the wine clean and a perfect match for halibut, turkey, or lobster. Only 15 percent of the wine is aged in new French oak, and a total of 84 percent is aged 4½ months in wood.

Nielson
2017 Pinot Blanc Santa Maria Valley

La Crema
NV Brut Rosé
91 Points Ken's Wine Guide Tasting Panel, Ken's Wine Guide Very Good+

This Sparkling Wine from La Crema is a new offering and made a very good first impression on the Tasting Panel. It is light coral colored and displays lots of medium sized streaming bubbles. It opens with a bread dough and red cherry bouquet with a hint of strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, frothy and slightly acidic. The flavor profile is a mild mineral influenced strawberry with notes of saline and yellow grapefruit. Finally, the Panel enjoyed its nicely extended dry finish. We suggested pairing this very good Sparkler with oysters Rockefeller, bacon wrapped scallops or crispy Thai rolls.

2017 Riesling
91 Points Erin Brooks, Robert Parker Wine Advocate

USA, California, Sonoma: 2017 Vintage – Part 2 "We had the heat wave and decided to pick everything before that, because it was ripe," says winemaker Fabian Krause. "I think it was the right decision. I added some bigger oak from Germany for fermenting and aging the Riesling." The 2017 Riesling, with four grams per liter of residual sugar, opens with warm apricot, crushed stone, fresh pineapple, slate and kiwi on the nose. It's light to medium-bodied with a fresh fruit profile gaining in amplitude in the mouth. It has a wonderfully juicy frame and a long, textured finish. It's not as elegant as its 2016 counterpart but still very pleasurable to drink. 350 cases produced.

Freemark Abbey
2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
91 Points Charles Olken, Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine 91 points - Two Stars

This generously filled, very well-focused offering is a textbook expression of the richness, the fruity succulence and supple feel that have made the Napa Valley version the standard by which all others are measured, and it does so at a price that makes it one of the best buys to be had among collectable Cabernets. It fixes on ripe currants and cherries early on with accents of briar, dusty soil, dried herbs and root-beer-like sweetness all in tow. If far from hard and standoffish, it is a wine not to be wasted by hasty drinking, and it fully deserves five or six more years of age. GOOD VALUE

Freemark Abbey
2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
91 Points Rich Cook, Wine Review Online

Here's another success story from the difficult 2011 vintage. It's well rounded and rich, with classic Cabernet character -- blackberry, cassis, mild dried herbs and soft fall spice are knit together in a fruit forward package that goes beyond a simple Napa fruit bomb. It's got age-worthy structure and a finish that's already keeping all the elements in balance. Nicely done! Contains 19% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec.

Freemark Abbey
2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
91 Points Joshua Greene, Wine & Spirits 91 points - Best Buy

Bright, spicy and sophisticated, this takes a cool, red-fruited approach to the 2008 vintage. There's shape to the wine, the tannins made supple by their time in oak, the wood lending a hint of butterscotch sweetness. The tannins become earthier with air, the wine lean enough to target roast lamb.

Freemark Abbey
2004 Cabernet Bosché
91 Points Stephen Tanzer, Vinous

Deep medium ruby. Lively nose combines black raspberry, blueberry, violet, licorice, coffee, mocha and tobacco. Very rich, dense and concentrated but not heavy in spite of its almost liqueur-like ripeness. The flavors of dark berries, bitter chocolate and licorice are nicely framed by slightly elevated acidity. Finishes with big, broad, dusty, chocolatey tannins and excellent length. Still young.
