2015 La Muse
95 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2015 La Muse is developing beautifully. Ripe, ample and voluptuous in the glass, the 2015 exudes character. Even with all of its obvious intensity, the 2015 has quite a bit of freshness to balance out the ripe, racy Merlot-based fruit. Super-ripe red cherry, plum, mocha and spice notes build into the racy, inviting finish.

Matanzas Creek
2015 Journey Chardonnay
95 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2015 Chardonnay Journey captures all the natural richness and viscosity that is so characteristic of the Jackson family's Alexander Mountain estate. Tropical fruit, orange blossom, honey, vanillin and pineapple all flesh out in a Chardonnay that offers a striking interplay of richness and finesse. This is a decidedly unctuous, textured Chardonnay with real personality.

Lokoya
2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain
95 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (Spring Mountain) is pliant, supple and unabashedly sexy. Silky tannins and soft contours add to the wine's considerable appeal. Succulent dark red cherry, plum, mint and sweet spice are nicely pushed into the foreground. Lifted floral notes add finesse, brightness and sensuality to this undeniably appealing Cabernet Sauvignon from Lokoya.

Legacy
2015 Chardonnay Alexander Valley
95 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2015 Chardonnay shows the natural intensity of the year in its voluptuous, tropical personality. Pineapple, mint, orange peel, smoke and apricot infuse this racy, powerful Chardonnay. Oily and viscous on the palate, with tremendous textural depth and tons of sheer appeal, the 2015 has a lot to offer.

Hartford
2016 Hartford Vineyard Zinfandel
95 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Boisterous and ample, with tons of varietal character, the 2016 Zinfandel Hartford Vineyard is superb. Explosive aromatics and rich, dense fruit are the signatures in this decidedly exuberant wine. Succulent black cherry, plum, new leather and menthol are some of the many notes that infuse this deep, plush Zinfandel.

Freemark Abbey
2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
95 Points Stephen Brook, Decanter Outstanding California Cabernets of 2014

Outstanding California Cabernets of 2014 Powerful black currant nose, with slightly charred oak. Very rich without being jammy, it packs a punch. An assertive and very youthful style, but good acidity and tannins means this should go the distance.

Freemark Abbey
2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
95 Points Stefan Neumann, Decanter Outstanding California Cabernets of 2014

Outstanding California Cabernets of 2014 Intense, youthful and fruit-forward nose. This is softly structured but with a good level of tannins. Violets and rose petals lead up to a lengthy finish. Great purity and clarity here.

Freemark Abbey
2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
95 Points Alex Hunt, Decanter Outstanding California Cabernets of 2014

Outstanding California Cabernets of 2014 A bit Port-like on the nose to begin with, but there is a good depth and the brightness increases in the glass. The palate is succulent, and appealing and has potential to age. Very good.

Vérité
2016 La Joie
94-97 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2016 La Joie is decidedly heavy on the Cabernet Sauvignon, which comes through loud and clear in this super-expressive wine. Nuanced, powerful and deep, with tons of richness, the 2016 is shaping up to be a very complete wine. The aromatic intensity here is superb. I can't wait to see where it goes in coming years. Graphite, smoke, crème de cassis, dark spices and lavender build into the super-expressive finish.

Hartford
2016 Dina's Vineyard Zinfandel
94+ Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2016 Zinfandel Dina's Vineyard is deep, unctuous and full of flavor, yet also has quite a bit of the freshness that is so typical of Russian River Zinfandels, especially in this vintage. The Dina's has a bit more tannin and structure than the other wines in the range, which makes it reticent. Dollops of Alicante add character and personality to this super-expressive Zinfandel from Hartford.

Copain
2015 Hawks Butte Syrah
94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

A dark, powerful wine, the 2015 Syrah Hawks Butte presents an exotic mélange of inky fruit, bittersweet chocolate, iron, blood, gravel, black pepper, juniper berry and blackberry jam. Rich, unctuous and potent, the 2015 is long on depth and fruit texture. The potent tannins need time to soften, but this is nicely done. Readers should expect a virile, brooding style.

Copain
2015 Brosseau Syrah
94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2015 Syrah Brosseau is a brilliant, focused wine. Beams of chalky minerality lend brightness and persistence to the racy, dark red berry fruit. Smoke, dried herb, anise and dried flowers give this potent, focused Syrah a good bit of savoriness to play off the pungent fruit and bracing mineral notes. Above all else, the wine's drive and sublime, long finish are things of beauty. The Brosseau Syrah is one of the most distinctive wines in the Copain lineup.

Brewer-Clifton
2016 3D Pinot Noir
94 Points William Kelley, Robert Parker Wine Advocate

The 2016 Pinot Noir 3 D—which hails from a sandy site in the Sta. Rita Hills planted in the late 1990s—is unusually powerful this year, opening in the glass with notes of cherry preserve, spice and potpourri. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, saline and supple, with impressive richness, amplitude and chewy extract despite being quite youthfully tight-knit. Give this a year or two in the cellar and then follow it for a decade.

Mt. Brave
2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder
94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is another Mt. Brave wine that is going to need cellaring. The 2015 plays a big game, with huge fruit and equally imposing tannins. Deep, inky and ample, the 2015 is very hard to read today. That won't be an issue in a few years, but today, the Cabernet is a forbidding, young Mt. Veeder wine endowed with serious intensity in all of its dimensions.

Matanzas Creek
2015 Chardonnay Bennett Valley
94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Orange peel, butter, vanillin and a host of tropical notes infuse the 2015 Chardonnay (Bennett Valley) with remarkable depth and viscosity. This is a decidedly powerful, exotic Chardonnay full of Wente Clone character. Winemaker Marcia Torres Forno got the very best out of this fruit.

Lokoya
2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain
94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (Diamond Mountain) is plush, dark and inviting. It is also quite soft for a young mountain Cabernet. Lavender, licorice and white flowers add nuance to a core of inky blue/purplish fruit. Medium in body and nicely lifted, the 2015 has a lot to offer. Best of all, it should drink well with only minimal cellaring. Graphite, crème de cassis and licorice appear on the nuanced finish. Lokoya's Diamond Mountain Cabernet emerges from the Wallis vineyard, which Jackson Family Estate purchased a few years back.

Kendall-Jackson
2015 Jackson Estate Trace Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon
94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Trace Ridge is one of the very best wines I have tasted from Kendall-Jackson of late. Powerful and structured, with a super-classic expression of fruit, acid and tannin, the 2015 is flat-out beautiful. Blueberry, gravel, menthol, game and licorice all run through this deeply expressive Cabernet. The 2015 has tons of Knights Valley character, and yet winemaker Kristy Melton has managed to reign in the tannins. What a gorgeous wine this is.

Hartford Court
2015 MacLean's Block Pinot Noir
94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2015 Pinot Noir MacLean's Block is even more impressive from bottle than it was from barrel. Bright and lifted, with terrific focus, the MacLean's deftly balances fruit intensity with structure. Whole clusters and elevation also add to the wine's savory and mineral-driven personality. I very much like the sense of energy here. This is a terrific showing from Hartford Court.

Hartford Court
2015 Seascape Vineyard Pinot Noir
94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2015 Pinot Noir Seascape Vineyard is generous, supple and absolutely delicious. Lifted floral, citrus and spice notes add nuance to a core of red berry fruit. Medium in body, yet pliant, the 2015 has turned out beautifully. As always, the Seascape is done in a forward, fruit-driven style for the coast, but it also has quite a bit of minerality and brightness.

Hartford Court
2015 Arrendell Vineyard Pinot Noir
94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2015 Pinot Noir Arrendell Vineyard is terrific. Rich, ample and enveloping, the 2015 is wonderfully complete. The new oak, which was evident from barrel, has integrated very nicely. Sumptuous and racy, with tons of aromatic and flavor breadth, the 2015 has terrific balance of fruit, acids and structure. The old Martini clones yield a Pinot with beguiling complexity and nuance. The Arrendell remains one of the most distinctive Pinots in the Hartfort Court range.

Hartford Court
2016 Three Jacks Vineyard Chardonnay
94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

A dense, powerful wine, the 2016 Chardonnay Three Jacks Vineyard captures all the textural breadth this site is capable of. The apricot, orange peel, spice and tropically-leaning flavors are beautifully layered and delineated. The Three Jacks is one of the more ample, oily wines in the Hartford Court range.

Hartford Court
2015 Fog Dance Vineyard Chardonnay
94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2015 Chardonnay Fog Dance Vineyard has turned out even better than I originally expected. Slate, crushed rocks, mint, lemon confit and white pepper are all perked up by bright acids. A hint of reduction adds character without overpowering the wine. Fog Dance remains one of the most distinctive wines in the Hartford Court range.

Hartford Court
2015 Jennifer's Chardonnay
94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2015 Chardonnay Jennifer's is another super-impressive wine. The natural freshness of this cool site balances the overtness of the fruit. Lush and textured, but also impeccable in its balance, the 2015 has a lot to offer. Apricot, candied orange peel, spice and butter notes flesh out in this super-expressive, inviting Chardonnay.

Gran Moraine
2015 Chardonnay Yamhill-Carlton
94 Points Isaac James Baker, Terroirist New Releases from Oregon

New Releases from Oregon Light yellow color. Complex aromas of limestone, wet river rocks, chalk dust, with honey, lemon curd, lemon meringue and salted almond. So vibrant and crisp on the palate, gorgeous texture and depth but stays brisk. Apricot, limes, lemon curd, the fruit is doused in saline, mineral, sea salt, white tea, honeyed biscuits and salted almond. Complex, deep, refreshing, delicious, this is insanely good stuff. The wine spends 16 months in a combination of French oak and stainless steel.

Vérité
2016 La Muse
93-96 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2016 La Muse is a dark, inward wine that shows a bit more power and overall tannin than is often the case with this wine. The 2016 is shaping up be an especially somber La Muse. I imagine the 2016 will also be very slow to mature. Today, it is quite forbidding.
