Lastly, Cambria's 2013 Pinot Noir Barbara's Clone 667 is a supple, straightforward effort that gives up lots of raspberry, toasted spice, dried flower and vanilla aromas and flavors. It's a charming, seamless effort geared for drinking over the coming 6-7 years.
The 2015 Chardonnay West Point, which had a portion of malolactic fermentation blocked, offers an exotic, tropical and orange blossom-scented bouquet in it charming, fruit forward personality.
The most vibrant and juicy in the lineup, the 2015 Chardonnay Fog Tide has lots of citrus and lychee notes, with a medium-bodied, fresh, lively and delicious style on the palate.
This is pretty heavily wooded with vanilla and currant character and chewy, slightly drying tannins. Medium body. Dialing it back a little would make it a lot better. Drink or hold. 89 points.
All stainless, no malolactic and widely available distribution make this a pure-blooded warm weather go-to white wine. It’s young and still a bit yeasty, aromatic with scents of seeds and grains. Tightly wound fruit flavors of apple and green melon come with good depth and texture.
For 2015, this wine spent 9 months in primarily French oak (some American), 19% of which is new. Tropical fruit and lemon citrus aromas from the cork. It's quite fragrant in the glass with creamy, buttery, lemony, tropical fruit and slightly lactic aromas. The palate is full-bodied and very ripe with pear and butter flavours, along with touches of white peach and woodsmoke. It's creamy with fresh, balanced acidity. The finish is long and bitter with a fine chalky mineral texture. A rich Chardonnay that deserves to be paired with rich seafood dishes or chicken. 89 pts
This bright yellow Chardonnay from Kendall Jackson is very good again this vintage. It opens with an oak and pineapple bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a tangy pineapple with notes of gentle oak and Bosc pear. I also detected hints of lime. The finish is dry and flavors are nicely prolonged. This Chard is once again a crowd pleaser and would pair nicely with grouper fillets with lemon butter caper sauce. 89 points. Very good.
The 2014 Pinot Noir Clone 115 is a supple, spice-filled, elegant effort that has lots of red fruits, medium-bodied richness, light tannin and integrated acidity. It's a touch simple, but has plenty to love.
A good value in California Pinot Noir, the 2014 Pinot Noir Benchbreak offers clean, crisp notes of black cherries, underbrush and herbs in a charming, supple, beautifully fruited package. This cuvée is completely destemmed and saw 8 months in 26% new French oak. They make a boatload of it, and it’s solid.
In addition to a terrific lineup of Pinot Noirs, the estate makes a solid Syrah. Completely destemmed and aged in 24% new French oak, the 2014 Syrah Tepusquet is a juicy, peppery, black and blue-scented beauty that has lots of upfront fruit, good freshness and purity and a great finish. It's a consumer friendly, distinct, well-made Syrah to drink over the coming 3-4 years.
Showing plenty of reductive qualities on the nose, the 2015 Chardonnay Benchbreak is fruit forward, nicely textured and charming on the palate, with plenty of texture. I expect it would improve with a vigorous decant.
Zesty and plush, with lively strawberry and peach accents. 88 points. Very good.
Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir has expressive red cherry and red currant notes over suggestions of dusty earth and cinnamon stick. Medium-bodied, it fills the mouth with ripe, juicy red berry flavors, supported by soft tannins and finishing with spicy nuances. 88 points.
The 2013 Pinot Noir Chehalem Mountains has a mixture of red and black fruit on the nose and demonstrates better delineation than the Willamette Pinot Noir. The palate is medium-bodied with musky black fruit on the entry, a little charred in texture with fine acidity, but just missing a little flesh toward the finish. 88 points.
Soft and delicate, with supple strawberry and cranberry flavors.
The wine is a light to medium ruby color. The expressive nose has cherries, baking spices, minerals, raspberries, underbrush, white pepper, slight herbal note and cola. This has a medium body, soft to moderate ripe tannins and decent acidity. On the palate tart cherries, spice and minerals carry the majority of the load. There is good length on the finish with some earthiness entering the picture. This doesn’t offer much in the complexity department but it is a tasty week night pinot. This wine has 13.5% alcohol and the bottle is sealed with an agglomerated cork. 88 pts

Delicate and pretty, with floral strawberry and watermelon flavors.

A more rounded, layered style of rosé, the 2016 Rose of Pinot Noir (100% Pinot Noir) gives up notes of ripe cherries and raspberries as well as medium-bodied richness and a clean, refreshing finish. It's a food rosé to drink over the coming summer months.
The 2016 Viognier was brought up all in neutral barrels. It's a clean, straightforward example of the variety that has notes of honeysuckle, pineapple and citrus, medium-bodied richness and a good finish.
The light gold colored 2015 Chardonnay Clone 4 Seeds of Empowerment was fermented in stainless steel and aged 5 months in new French oak. Peach, pineapple and salty aromas and flavor emerge from this lightly textured, enjoyable white geared for near term drinking.
A bit rustic and edgy, showing a rawness to the tannins and the texture, though this doesn't shortchange on flavor, with dark berry, earth and anise notes. 87 points. Very good.
Fruit off Block 31 from the highest section - 210m and the deepest sand for the ?46 planted bush vines. 50% whole berries, wild yeast and on lees in used French oak for 1 year. No need for winemaking accoutrements - a pure expression of that discrete spot. Perfectly modulated, the tannins enmeshed with the fruit from whence they came, excellent fruit yet the most savoury and earthy toned and deepest of the three Grenaches.
The flagship shiraz with fruit off two blocks, 25% whole bunches, wild yeast, French oak 40% new, aged 15 months then a barrel selection. Quality control in check. It effortlessly reaches a depth of flavour and presence while retaining its verve. Smells of a spice shop next door to a baker, with the dark fruit in line with sprightly acidity and shapely if firm tannins. Stunning now, even brighter future.
