The 2015 Chardonnay Four Hearts Vineyards emerges from the Dehlinger estate in the heart of the Russian River. Creamy, layered and exquisite, the Four Hearts is super-refined, especially within the context of the year. All the elements fall into place effortlessly. Hints of sage, candied lemon and chamomile accent the expressive finish.

There is real phenolic weight and intensity here, but in the deceptively medium-bodied style that is typical of sites on the true Sonoma Coast.
The 2015 Chardonnay Fog Dance Vineyard is one of the most distinctive wines in this range. Slate, smoke and a host of soil-driven notes give the wine its signature aromatic complexity. Delicate and lifted, the 2015 is pure class. White pepper, mint and bright orchard fruit are all beautifully delineated. The Fog Dance is a real stand out.
A new wine in this range, the 2015 Chardonnay Sevens Bench emerges from a Jackson property in Carneros that was part of the original Buena Vista estate. Layered, supple and beautifully persistent, the 2015 is all class. The Mt. Eden and Rued clones add perfume and brightness, but there is also plenty of richness laced throughout.
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon (Knights Valley) is a dark, powerful wine. Inky blue and purplish fruits, smoke, licorice and violets are pushed forward. This is a relatively soft, plush style for Knights Valley, with fewer of the mineral/savory notes often found here. In exchange, the 2013 will drink with minimal cellaring.
The 2014 Red Wine (Sonoma County) has turned out beautifully. Ripe, luscious and voluptuous to the core, the 2014 exudes richness and concentration. The high percentage of Cabernet Franc give the wine its lifted aromatics, while the Merlot adds softness and juiciness throughout. With a little aeration, the 2014 can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. The 2014 spent ten months in oak, about 30% new.
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Revelation has turned out well, but at the same time, the jump in quality here over the two vintages is marked. Black fruit, mocha, plum, smoke and licorice, along with big, grippy tannins, are among the signatures.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Monolith is plump, juicy and open-knit, all of which give it considerable immediacy. Dark red cherry, plum, spice and dried flowers all flesh out in the glass. This is one of the most supple, forward wines in the range.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Christopher's offers good up-front appeal and sweetness in its fruit. Dark, unctuous and expressive. Like all of these wines the Christopher's is lacking in structure and concentration.
The 2015 Chardonnay Red Point is another wine in this range that is airy and lifted in feel. Orchard fruit, white flowers and mint are nicely delineated in this decidedly understated, pretty Chardonnay. The 100% new oak is well integrated.
Pure and rich, well-centered on a core of honeydew, apricot, pear and fig flavors, showing touches of spicy oak, fresh earth and dried herb. Inviting.
The 2015 Sauvignon Blanc Helena Bench is the most pungent of these wines aromatically, but it also has the most textural depth. Bold, racy and beautifully layered, the 2015 blossoms nicely on the palate with broad, creamy flavors and textures that offer tons of appeal. The 2015 was aged mostly in foudre, with some puncheon and concrete.
The 2014 Chardonnay (Sonoma County) is a gorgeous appellation-level Chardonnay. Yellow stone fruit, slate, white flowers vanillin and French oak notes abound in this very pretty and nuanced Chardonnay from Matanzas Creek. This is another terrific value within the Matanzas Creek lineup.
Deftly balanced, this is slow to build nuance and complexity, unfolding to reveal tiers of spicy raspberry, black cherry and wilted rose. Though medium-weight, the flavors build intensity and nuance.
