The 2021 Pinot Noir Sealift Vineyard sports a darker ruby/purple hue as well as aromas of black cherry liqueur, mocha, and pressed purple flowers. Full-bodied and generous with immediate fruit up front and a good lift of fresh acidity on the finish, it’s lush with pine and black and red fruit, with its rosy floral perfume lasting on the finish. Drink 2023-2028.

With a youthful golden straw color, the 2021 Chardonnay Tidal Break Vineyard offers a bit of sea spray, tropical fruit, and fresh flowers. It’s more expressive on the palate, with rich, forward, mouth-filling fruit of mango and peach, followed by a bit of fresh salinity on the back, with lemon curd and toasted vanilla. Drink this ripe but well-balanced wine over the next 4-5 years.

The 2021 Chardonnay Jackson Estate Sable Mountain Vineyard is lifted with lime blossom, melon, and fresh herbs. Full-bodied, with generous extract in its notes of guava and grapefruit, as well as its salty finish, it has warmth but wears it well. Drink this over the next 5-6 years.

The four white presented to me by Kendall-Jackson were all a youthful golden hue. The 2021 Chardonnay Three Vistas is ripe with fresh pineapple, honeysuckle, and orange rind.Ripe and round, this full-bodied white is classic with generous ripe pear, juicy fruit of apricot, and a long floral perfume of lemon curd and vanilla bean. It is juicy and ripe but has clean lift on the finish, with a delicate saline touch. Drink it over the next several years.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Three Vistas is ripe with boysenberry, fresh violets, and potting soil, as well as a hint of blue fruits shining through. It’s full-bodied and generous, with approachable ripe berry fruit, fine tannins, and fresh lift on the finish, with some brushy earth. Drink it over the next 6-8 years.

A youthful and saturated ruby hue, the 2021 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is ripe and
spicy, with aromas of fresh pine, cherry liqueur, and fresh wildflowers. Medium to fullbodied, with ample richness on the palate, it reveals notes of ripe berries, turned forest floor, and toasted baking spice, and it has a classic feel, with good structure and a long finish. Drink it over the next few years. 15,000 cases were produced.

Back to a more rich and meaty profile, the 2020 Syrah Sealift is ripe with blackberry
preserve, lavender, and Kalamata olive. Full-bodied, with building structure, it has firm
tannins that will take time to settle, but it’s ripe with iron richness, as well as meaty black cherry fruit, tea leaf, and scorched earth. Give it another couple of years and drink 2025-2032

Lifted with ripe aromas of fresh peach, the 2021 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is generous with orange peel citrus, delicate baking spice, and fresh white flowers. Medium-bodied, with snappy, refreshing acidity (but not austere), it offers notes of ripe green apple,vanilla custard, and lemon balm. This is a fresh and inviting white to drink now or over the next several years, and it offers great value.

All these Pinots from Copain are a concentrated ruby color with a pinkish hue. The 2021 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is ripe with wild raspberry, fresh herbs, and pressed flowers.Medium bodied and attractive, with good structure, the palate opens to crunchy fruit with mixed berries, fresh earth, and a floral flourish on the finish. It’s a solid wine to drink over the next several years.

A saturated but transparent purple/ruby, the 2021 Grenache Syrah Mourvedre Hawks
Butte is juicy with ripe mixed berries, pine, and fresh mountain herbs. Medium to fullbodied, it has good freshness that holds things together nicely in terms of its structure, with crunchy fruit of grenadine, wild berries, and candied violets. It needs some time to soften a bit, as the tannins are ripe and angular, although I enjoy the freshness and lift it offers. Drink 2025-2032.

Moving to a darker expression, the 2019 Bootleg Red Blend pours an inky black hue and offers up aromas of pencil shaving, boysenberry preserve, and sweet tobacco. Fullbodied, with full, ripe tannins, it reveals notes of preserved black plum, crushed purple flowers, and turned soil.

A youthful medium yellow hue, the 2021 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard is herbaceous and fresh with thyme, yellow pear, and citrus flowers. Softly textured and medium-bodied, it opens with notes of ripe pear, fresh orange, and wet stone as well as a touch of lemon
curd, with softness throughout and a lasting floral perfume. Drink 2023-2028

Similar in appearance to the Poet's Peak at this stage and tasted from barrel, the 2021
Cabernet Sauvignon Jackson Estate Trace Ridge is inky with aromas of scorched earth,
cedar, black cherry, and leather. Full-bodied and plush, with ripe tannins, it’s already
expressive, revealing a lush, luxurious texture, satiny notes of mocha and blackberries, and a long, clean finish. It will be great to revisit this next year from bottle.

Coming from an elevation of 2860 feet, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Jackson Estate
Poet's Peak was tasted as a barrel sample and is highly expressive in its vibrant aromas of black raspberry liqueur, dark minerals, and floral perfume. This full-bodied red offers a plush texture, with good structure of sweet tannins, and it has that mountain fruit extract. It will certainly offer a lot of wine for $60

Moving to the still whites, the vibrant yellow 2020 Chardonnay Estate has expressiveherbal aromas, as well as notes of grapefruit, hops, sage, and white fl owers. Full-bodied,with an elegant, supple texture and silky, fl oral notes of honeysuckle, melon, and vanillaon the palate, it’s an attractive wine to drink over the next few years.

The only white wine Siduri produces, the 2021 Chardonnay Willamette Valley is a youthful pale yellow color and reveals fresh aromas of peach, white flowers, and lemon-lime citrus. This medium-bodied white is rounded out on the palate with great, fresh notes of crunchy green apple as well as some tropical fruit of papaya and rounded citrus. Drink 2023-2028.

There are more lifted aromas of red raspberry, candied roses, and minty pine in the 2021 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast. It offers a more linear feel on the palate, with medium body, ripe tannins, and more crunchy fruit, as well as smoky earth, cranberry cocktail, and fresh soil. Drink 2024-2030.

Predominantly sourced from Pocket Peak and barrel fermented in 28% new oak, the 2021 Chardonnay Alexander Valley is fresh and lightly floral, with fresh pear, citrus blossom, and wet stone. More expressive on the palate, it is full-bodied with a supple rounded mouthfeel and notes of beeswax, chamomile, white pepper, and ripe apple. It lends more richness and immediacy up front and should be drunk over the next few years.

Taking on a golden tinge, the 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Journey has a bit of oak spice along with lemon curd, supple tropical papaya, fresh herbs, and a touch of vanilla. Mediumbodied, with more density to the core, it delivers driving citrus oils, green apple skin, savory herbs, and bitter citrus pith. It’s persistent on the palate, with a note of saline in its clean finish. I like its savory element, which may be interesting to watch as it ages. Drink it over the next several years.

The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Helena Bench is elegant and rounded with soft tropical aromas of mango, honeysuckle, and pink grapefruit. Medium-bodied, with a bit of a pithy grip and a touch of green almond, it offers notes of citrus pith and tarragon, a chalky texture, and a clean finish. Drink it over the next few years.

The 2021 Chardonnay Saralee's Vineyard pours a youthful yellow/straw hue and offers notes of lime blossom, wet stone, and fresh peach. Full-bodied, but with some lift on the palate, its fresh acidity feels a touch more linear, with ripe pineapple, a delicate note of vanilla, and citrus pith. Drink it over the next few years.

A deep but transparent red hue, the 2021 Pinot Noir Anderson Valley moves to a darker profile of black cherry, rocky earth, and pressed flowers. Medium to full-bodied, with expansive juicy fruit of sweet berries and more structure in its notes of blackberry andfresh earth, it’s a solid wine with a bit of meatiness to drink over the next few years.

wild raspberry, leather, and candied roses. Medium-bodied, with elegant structure, fine tannins, and a graceful softness to its texture, it has notes of preserved strawberry,lavender, and turned soil. It’s a very charming wine to drink 2024-2030.

and sweet herbs. Medium-bodied and attractive on the palate, with more ripe mixed berries, fine tannins, and a supple, soft texture, this is a clean and very charming wine to drink over the next few years.
