Attractive elements of melon, citrus and oak in the nose. Clean, balanced and altogether drinkable.
A lush, richly fruity, boldly flavored wine that offers abundant honeyed, pineapple fruit allied to smoky, toasty new oak. (Also reviewed 6/26/93).
Smooth, velvety and elegant, with a nice range of plum, currant, toast, cola and spice aromas and flavors. Very pretty to drink now through 1996 or 1997.
Recommended.
Its ripe, dried cherry and dark chocolate character combines well with its lavish oak.
Tasty and rich.
Oak tones in the nose, leading to plummy-black pepper flavor and finish. Solidly built with lots of body and strong tannins.
Ripe cherry and herbal tones are nicely fit with a sweet oak background. Can be served any time over the next five years or so with broiled or marinated meats.
Soft and understated in the nose with subtle suggestions of creamy oak and apples, this rounded, medium-bodied offering delivers clean, uncomplicated fruit flavors.
The best Chard the K-J folks have turned out, and they've made some of the greats. Rich, fruity, seductive aromas yield to a mouthful more complex than Donald Trump's tax return. Round, smooth, with gobs of citrus and tropical fruits, it's absolutely delicious, perfect as an aperitif (our way) or with rich fish dishes (also our way).
Ripe cherry and prune notes keep this light, spicy wine lively through the smooth finish, where it echoes anise. Drinkable now through 1997.
Soft and fragrant, with bright peach and apple flavors. Finishes with a lively mouthful of fruit.
Delicious, rich cassis and black currant. Proportional oak and integrated tannins. Perfectly balanced.
Crisp and spicy, offering a chocolate and spice edge to the modest core of berry and currant flavors. Finishes lean and elegant.
Clean, complex and persistent fruit flavors and subtle use of oak.
Smooth, soft, lush and round.

Surprisingly approachable for a young Cabernet. Well balanced. A great deal.
Excellent.
Excellent. With deep ruby/purple colors, wonderful aromas of ripe fruit, and rich, concentrated personality. This will drink well through the turn of the century. A terrific Zinfandel.

Best value.
Dense and peppery but there's also a tight core of plum and berry-scented fruit. It packs in lots of tannins on the finish, so you might want to celler this one until 1995 or so to let it soften.
Oregano and cassis, complex, rich, dry, spicy, light, elegant.
Serves up lots of nice flavors, including smooth currant, chocolate, herb and spicy buttery oak, and the flavors stay with you on the long, full, focused finish. Has the tannins to age, but you can enjoy it now, too.
