No California wine scored higher with us in 1992. A perfect example of a purely delicious wine in a first-class vintage. Filled with fruit and spice, this is a classy mouthful, a concentrated, highly polished wine that should just get better.

Rich, dry, crisp, orange and pineapple flavors.

The generous oak is well-supported by ripe berryish varietal fruit, and the nose is further enriched by nuances of oregano, spice and butter. Rich, round, well-balanced and full of fruit.

Blossomy, faintly tropical fruit slowly blooms behind more immediate elements of vanilla and creamy oak in the sweet and intriguing aromas.

Rich oak and toasty elements suggestive of roasted grain surround a solid measure of flowery, apple-like fruit in the aromas, while the deep flavors feature youthful, well-ripened fruit set against lots of oaky spice. Medium-full-bodied and slightly rounded feel, the wine shows good length and finishes with fruit and oak sharing the spotlight. A year to two of age should bring added dimension to this already appealing effort.

The wine is, quite simply, magnificent. Amazing finesse and charm. In a great chardonnay vintage, this may be the wine of the vintage.
